About This Place
The goal of this website is to provide students and parents with the information and resources to excel in sixth grade social science. When exploring this website, you should first find a description of history and its importance. As a history teacher, I find an understanding of history to be integral in your role as well-informed and responsible citizen. My hope is that this website will act as a guide as you step into that important role. You will also find useful links that contain a variety of resources for both students and parents to engage and support you in your learning of Ancient Civilizations. There will also be general information about your teacher, this course, and Villa Fundamental, along with other helpful materials.

About Your Teacher
Hello! My name is Ms. Rice and I am so excited to be at Villa Fundamental Intermediate School this year teaching 6th grade social science. This is my second year teaching and my second year here at Villa. I graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor's in History at California State University and then went on to complete my credential at CSUF as well. GO TITANS!
I come from a long line of teachers, with my great grandmother teaching high school English, my grandfather a high school coach and PE teacher, and my mom just retiring after 37 years teaching elementary school. You could say its in my blood!
I am very passionate about history and the skills it harnesses, look at my "What is History" section to find out more. I also care deeply about growing the social emotional skills of my students. I want them to know that I care about them as more than just kids in a classroom, but real people. Some of the best advice I have received is that students should leave your classroom feeling more like themselves than when they entered. I try to live up to that advice each day by trying to intentionally connect with each of my students.
I am born and raised in Orange County, with my parents and two older sisters. In my free time I love to read, go to the beach, and spend time with my friends. I also love to travel and hope to spend more time doing that.
I am excited to see where this year takes us and how we grow together!
